You can use extra pillows, or sleep on a recliner to reduce post-operative swelling. These measures help to reduce swelling and bruising by keeping your head elevated as much as possible during the first few days of recovery. Application of ice packs too will help. Patients may experience a feeling of tightness in their eyelids. In general, patients can drive a few days after surgery. However, it is recommended that you do not bend or perform any heavy lifting for a week to 10 days after surgery.
